Obama in viridophobia shock

Tuesday, 22nd July 2008

First he banned Muslims in headscarves from sitting behind him on the podium at a rally in Detroit. Now this

In a memo to reporters, described as ‘a few guidelines we sent staff before departure to the Middle East,’ Obama advance staffer Peter Newell laid out rules on attire for Jordan and Israel. First among them: ‘Do not wear green.’ An Obama aide explained to reporters that green is the color associated with the militant Palestinian group Hamas... Moreover, green is more generally seen as a symbol of Islam.

Now why is he so worried?

Let’s hope he’s never pictured sitting on the grass.

He wants to make himself "perceived" as all things to all people which of course is the sign of a fraud and a charlatan.

Rob NY Yes, indeed. He had fraud and charlatan written all over him from Day One. He is empty of everything except greed and ambition. Why else would he be so in the with the Chicago party machine if not that he was looking for something from them?

He has spent his entire adult career running for office.

He is being billed as possibility the first African-American Presdient when he will really be the first European Socialist President of the United States. I do not believe the American people will accept him over McCain who deticated his entire life to service to his nation and has the political courage to follow his own principles. Obama opposed the Iraq War as a lowly back bench "state" senator representing a far, far left section of Chicago. It took no courage at all to oppose a Bush led war. He became a US Senator after defeating a very unpopular out-of-state joke candidate named Alan Keyes. That in a nut shell is Obama's public record. That's it. How many Europeans know this? How many care?

Banning the wearing of the green? There goes the Irish vote!!! It gets even better: Andrea Mitchell, a liberal journalist has done a scathing piece on this con-artist about how during his Iraq and Afghanistan 'tours' he didn't have any reporters with him, he didn't have a press pool, he didn't do a press conference but his team set up military personnel to look like a pool of press reporters and gave them preselected questions to ask, in order for it to look like Obama was conducting an actual press conference. She has written that "we have not seen a presidential candidate do this, in my recollection, ever before." This man's afraid of the truth, and the people who might ask him questions that would reveal to all just how much a charlatan, and a dangerous one, he really is.

American Voter - D'acuerdo. Also, did you read the Charles Krauthammer piece? He makes some very astute observations about Obama, one of which is, Obama hasn't really left a paper trail.

Think about it. Forty-six years of age and there isn't really any record of his life before he burst on the national scene. No record of awards, achievements ... anything. He just worked away in the Chicago machine and some pretty grisly other company, like ex-hippy terrorists ... If you haven't read the Krauthammer piece, do read it.

Parotting the idiotic Charles Krauthammer, Verity writes:

-- Think about it. Forty-six years of age and there isn't really any record of his life before he burst on the national scene. No record of awards, achievements ... anything.

This is utter tripe - as shown by even a cursory read of his Wikipedia profile which states:

-- Obama entered Harvard Law School in late 1988 and at the end of his first year was selected as an editor of the law review based on his grades and a writing competition.[16] In his second year he was elected president of the law review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the law review's staff of 80 editors.[17] Obama's election in February 1990 as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review was widely reported and followed by several long, detailed profiles

In other words, far from there being no "record of awards, achievements ... anything," we know that Obama was elected President of the Harvard Law Review at the age of twenty-eight. At the same age, Charles Krauthammer was developing "secondary mania."

It is perhaps a powerful sign of how much a threat the far right finds Barack Obama that it is forced to put out such obviously false and fantastic propaganda.

Obama is the greatest charlaton in living memory!..mainstream America has given him the bennifit of the doubt over his shady friends and out of a sense of fair play, have listened to his seductive patter...but they are slowly losing confidence in his snake oil style...they are slowly turning away and will never listen again!!..once credibility is lost ,it will never be regained!...the preening effeminate poseur is slowly decomposing before our very eyes!!Obama is unelectable..MCCAIN wins by default!!

if Obama is a charlatan, then McCain must be a fraudster!!

A militarist suffering from acute narcissism and armed with the Bush Doctrine is not fit to be commander in chief

what is more scary is that there is more ignorance on this blog and it's readers than anywhere else!! it is not the left who are apologists or sympathisers it is those who follow "perfect" Mel and her loony rantings who need their heads checked.

No i am not a Obama supporter Ron Paul was the best man who should be the pres.

But can you seriously blame Obama for doing what he did. he supports Israel and it is still not good enough for Mel "i am right about everything" Phillips and her band of deluded sycophants.

Oh Melanie you are right aren't you??? are you ever wrong.

I'm just wondering when one of these reporters is going to ask Obama the following question: "Should you be elected President, will you be inviting your friends and neighbours Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn to a function in the White House? If not, why not?"

There is an American expression "When you see a turtle sitting on a post, you know it didn't get up there by itself."

Obama sure did not get where he is by himself, so who lifted this turtle and put it on the post?

There must be very powerful and rich elements in the US and maybe outside of it who picked him for their front man.

That is, to have him as a puppet in the White House to advance their own shady agenda.

Not suggesting any name or names -- use your imagination.

Melanie is wrong to say that "he" banned those wearing headscarves from sitting behind him at a Detroit rally. Members of his advance team did that and Obama subsequently called the two women and apologized.

As for Charles Krauthammer's comments about Obama's lack of a paper trail, would that be the same Charles Krauthammer who advocated in 2006 that Obama run for president?

I see in pictures that Obabma is wearing a Jewish skullcap while in Israel. As a non-Jew he is not expected to do that and it just makes his window-dressing even more obvious than it already is.

Obama's banning of anyone in his team wearing green while he was making his flying self-promotional visits to Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan and Israel is not quite as dodgy as it sounds.

Colours, in theory, ought to be neutral, but in reality carry enormous baggage in certain places.

As a young and innocent Englishman wandering around central Glasgow on my only visit there one afternoon in the late 1950s, I was totally amazed and perplexed to see notices in bar windows that said 'No one wearing green served here'.
It was probably twenty years before I realised what the notices meant and remember feeling how lucky I was that I wasn't wearing anything green that day.

No American presidential candidate visiting Northern Ireland (which while unlikely, might happen) would want - I feel pretty sure - to have members of their entourage wearing either green or orange.

I am no fan of the vacuous and slippery Obama, but do actually think his decision to ban green was a defensible one on his part. Muslims might have seen it as a condescending gesture. Remember the toe-curling habit Cheri Blair had of turning up at any function where people from the sub-Continent were present wearing a sari or a shalweer kameez.

Incidentally, a former Muslim who converted to Christianity that I used to know quite well, who was originally from the Yemen but now lives in England, told me once that Muslims are discouraged from wearing orange on the grounds that Buddhist priests wear orange robes - not that he had ever seen one in Yemen.

Every time I see Obama or McCain on the stump I think what a tragedy it is that the great John Bolton isn't standing.

He is a shifty type of individual. Definitely not to be trusted.

ndm - Like every Ivy League, Harvard practices reverse discrimination. I am not saying Obama's not intelligent, although I don't think he is outstandingly so. There were probably brighter brains who deserved to edit the Law Review, but Obama was black and personable and fitted into the "equality" programme a treat.

In addition to which, anyone's record at university isn't really relevant to life after university. It gives one a good start with one's first job, and that's about it.

He has no trail of achievements after he left Harvard. Just schmoozing around the corrupt Chicago Democratic political machine and mixing around with terrorists.

I said from day one that he is a clone of Tony Blair. I think he is as incompetent as Jimmuh, but on the whole, I don't see that he's a Carter clone. But Blair - twins separated at birth. (Or hatching. Lizards hatch, don't they?)

I don't really care that much, but I don't think it's all that bad. If he did wear green in the middle east, Fox News or whoeveer probably would run a story along the lines of "Obama is in al-quaida!!!" or whatever, so it makes pragmatic sense to try to avoid such a headline. A bit Tony Blair-ish perhaps, but not particuarly outrageous.

It says something that one seeks rationality and order from the Jerusalem Post, but there today it is found, and should be held up as the antithesis of this scaremongering led by Ms Phillips. In a piece by Jack Rosen entitled "Why Israel has nothing to fear from Obama" is the paragraph

"Israelis and American Jews have a long history of exaggerated fears based on very little, and a long history of being proven wrong. I think we are looking at this phenomenon again today. "

I'm confused. Everyone seems to be making Obama out to be some lying devil. He's a politican how could you not see the above "banning of the green" coming? The United States was attacked by crazed muslims, no one would vote for Obama if he had even the most remote connection to islam and the "enemies" of America. I agree that he is trying to please everyone which makes him, in Bush's term, a "flipflopper" but can you honestly name a politican who didn't bend to fit the mold of the people?

Augustus asks, "Why did [Obama] once insist that wearing an American flag lapel constituted "false patriotism", and yet now wears one all the time?"

Good question. And why did he have a false Presidential Seal made up for the front of his lectern and his stationery, until he was told by the officials who safeguard such things to cease and desist. But it was quite well done and very slippery.

Brian Moshe - "I am no fan of the vacuous and slippery Obama, but do actually think his decision to ban green was a defensible one on his part. Muslims might have seen it as a condescending gesture."

Distanced himself from Islam. Distanced himself from his ratbag pastor. Distanced himself from his white mother and grandmother. Had a brief reunion with his Kenyan dad after many years.

This person will do ANYTHING to achieve his ambitions.

Just like a little Kevin PM in Australia.

I think he has also distanced himself from Bernadette Dohrn. One by one, he has "thrown them under the bus" when they became inconvenient for his ambitions. Pretty soon, they're going to have to jack the bus up to make more room for former close associates of Barak who become inconvenient.

Ann -

Being presidnet of the Harvard Law Review at the age of 28 is an early sign of potential. His subsequent well-documented career demonstrates conclusivly that he has matched expectations and that he is comfortably Presidential material. Indeed, it is precisely because he is such a strong candidate, presenting ideas which resonate with the American people, that people are reduced to scurrilious attacks on his background.

The current incumbent strolled through life living off the fame and connections of his father. I believe his first real paying job was Governor of Texas and his second was President of the United States. Of course, if he hadn't squandered his time at Yale and Harvard being a drunken fratboy he too might have had a stellar academic career.

Verity

July 25th, 2008 12:58am

ndm - It is becoming increasingly evident that Obama's stint as the editor of the Harvard Law Review was a reverse discrimination appointment.

He has had no paper trail since leaving Harvard. No milestones. He got into the Chicago political machine as a handsome, elegant "black" (50% white, but we don't have to remember that because he threw his white mother under the bus) and burrowed in. Munch. Munch. Munch.

Ann

July 25th, 2008 8:56am

ndm thinks that you are fit to be president because you showed 'potential' at university. Oh, dear.

Obama has done nothing of note since then (otherwise ndm would surely have quoted chapter and verse, wouldn't it? Vague arm-waving about 'well-documented career' doesn't count).
Obama has not fulfilled any 'expectations', because ALL he has done is advance his own career.
