Well, Carla Bruni isn't my type, so I haven't been salivating over that photo (thanks for the peek, Madame Arcati).
That said, I did like Sarko's speech. Arthur Goldhammer, the Web's must-read Francophile, remains a little more sceptical: Royalty receives him as a peer. He still has that odd gait, however, almost a limp, as if one leg were shorter than the other. It's a flaw that humanizes him, a false note in an otherwise flawless symphony of tawdry trumpery.
