Brown at it again

Friday, 22nd August 2008

is Gordon Brown all there? Seriously. I wonder if his brain is functioning properly. Speaking to the troops in Afghanistan he said this:

This week we are celebrating the Olympics where we have had great success. But this week also I believe that our Olympic athletes and everybody else in our country will remember that you have showed exactly the same courage, professionalism and dedication. You make our country proud every day of the week and every week of the year. You are truly the heroes of our country.

It's clear what he's trying to do - praise the troops. But that's not what he has actually done. He said that they have shown "exactly the same courage, professionalism and dedication" as our Olympic athletes. To compare the courage of the troops with a bunch of people going round in circles as quickly as they can or paddling in the water is not just ridiculous, it is insulting.

When will the PLP rid us of this overpromoted incompetent?

He is saying that we are as proud of our soldiers all year round every year as we are of our Olympic atheletes for two weeks out of every four years.

If only our soldiers were at good at winning as our Olympians have been.

PJD, you must remember that our Olympians have to advantage of being properly funded.

And the only gunfire the athletes hear is the starter's gun.

In the "Heroically Unqualified for Being A Head of Government" contest, Gordon Brown makes Jimmy Carter look like a tower of competence.

Jimmy Carter also occupied himself with mind-boggling inanities. The President of the United States actually took it upon himself to assign parking spaces for staff at the White House. He also drew up a schedule for staff for use of the White House pool. This is exactly the mind-numbing obsessiveness continually demonstrated by Brown.

Answer to final question: it won't. Only the electorate will remove the numpty.

After 11 years of this loon, you still need to even ask whether he is all there?
Good god ...

Yeah, ok it's a different kind of courage but I'm sure the guys he was speaking to didn't sit down afterwards and pour over Brown's words afterwards with the same level of pedantry that you show in this article.

God knows, there is no shortage of things that you can criticise Brown for but this one is very trivial!
