Superficial Sexist

November 22nd, 2007 3:53pm

You are absolutely right about 'Sky's superb foreign editor' Tim Marshall. He is the best TV journalist I've seen in either UK or USA,he combines expertise with excellent explanations. He is one of the few reasons to watch SKYNEWS with the sound turned on. But it's not too bad a channel with the sound muted because they do have some pretty girls reading the news and presenting the weather.

Quite so, SS: Sky's make-up and costume people are much better than the BBC's judging by Isobel Lang.

My favourite Sky weather girls are Denise Nurse (bright eyes and smiling face) and Jo Wheeler (lovely voice). But Tiberius does have a good point about Isobel Lang. Of the news presenters: Paula Middlehurst and Anna Botting. Would anyone else out there like to join in this trivia and forget for a minute about the mess that Brown & co are getting us into.

If the posters here really want sexy, I suggest they check out French news anchor and reporter, Mélissa Theuriau. A small taster: http://tinyurl.com/38k3r8

'Superficial sexist' is quite right about Tim Marshall. He always provides very perceptive analysis of foreign affairs. Watching Sky News from afar in Saudi Arabia I also find myself grateful for the visual wallpaper provided by the pretty newsreaders and weather girls. However, the sound always goes up when Julie Etchingham appears. She really is 'Champagne for the brain'.In view of other postings, why don't we organise a 'sexiest newsreader' survey?

"why don't we organise a 'sexiest newsreader' survey?" - I would have suggested instead a 'sexiest blogger' competition, but I then realised it would be utterly futile in view of the fact that Neil Clark's close friend, the foul-mouthed 'Exile', would once again simply round up 1000 unemployed Mexican labourers and Clarkie would win that as well. I don't think I could stomach yet another one of Clark's self-congratulatory articles in the Guardian, this time claiming that he's the next Tom Cruise: "Move over Cruise, the British public know a sexy man when they see one."

Just had a look through CNE and didn't realize who they were. "free, prosperous and peaceful Europe" In eight posts called "micro-control", I point out that the opposite is the case, particularly in what was once England.

I can't stand Tim Marshall, the only peple who are impressed by him are those who don't understand the subjects he's talking about. Those that do know that he talks out of his backside, and I think he knows it.

But then he works for Murdoch corp, so I guess shoddy journalism is a part of the package.
