Ask a Jew

Monday, 7th January 2008

I wonder how much time, money and effort went into this study:

Circumcision does not reduce sexual satisfaction and so there should be no reservations about using this method as a way to combat HIV, a study says.

Nearly 5,000 Ugandan men were recruited for the study. Half were circumcised, half had yet to undergo surgery.

There was little difference between the two groups when they were asked to rate performance and satisfaction, the journal BJU International reports.

I could have told them that for free.

You had sex before you were circumcised? As one website puts it (yes, I know it's friggin' obvious, but you sound like you're having a bad day): "Only men circumcised as adults can experience the difference a foreskin makes."

Mr. Pollard, you state then that you had carnal relations before you were circumcised ...and obviously after ? how interesting....care to provide a time line...i ask because I am considering having a foreskin grafted ONTO my circumcised glans in the hope it may of increase my sexual pleasure....you could possibly save me a mort of discomfort and cost...

Well I had the 'snip' at 31. It was definitely better as an instrument of entertainment and leisure before. There is a reason why those with are called Cavaliers and those without, Roundheads.

A gentleman's prime concern should be to identify which version the ladies prefer.

"A gentleman's prime concern should be to identify which version the ladies prefer." Very true. Jewish law in fact obliges a husband to provide adequate sexual pleasure for his wife. However, rabbinical authorities in the UK have for very obvious reasons declared that this does not apply where the wife works for the Guardian or BBC.

"Mr. Pollard, you state then that you had carnal relations before you were circumcised ...and obviously after?" - After? Nah. It's well know that the beautiful Mrs. P. belongs to the only closed order of Carmelite nuns in the entire Jewish world.

As a non-Jew, it's no skin off my nose - just the unkindest cut of all.

The bit that worries me is that the control group had "YET to undergo circumcision" [my emphasis], suggesting that all guys would get round to it in the end. Or, more likely, that they are approaching the issue from a biased perspective.

well...i had the 'procedure' last evening....the graft seems successful so far....a little itchy of course...it was the former prepuce of a journalist turned stickup artist registered 'organ' donor who died in a hail of buns while fleeing from the nazz after robbing a love toys shoppe... i intend giving 'it a trial run this morning sfter the bandages come off.... stephen...thanks for giving me the courage and the sense of empowerment to finally take the risk !

According to the ladies, the unsnipped variety is infinitely superior. So there!

Jimmy B, If she told you otherwise, she wouldn't be a lady. What she really thinks you'll probably never, ever know.

Was this a double blind study? And if so, what part of the anatomy was removed from members of the control group?

Max Kaye. Suggest you get your eyesight tested or learn to read. That's "ladies"; plural!
