AIPAC was the reason the US went to war with Iraq. Many of the influential neoconservatives are Jews. Now as has recentley been revealed Jews are donating huge amounts of money to our parties in the UK in suspicious ways. Israel seem to be above the law. Can you blame people for being suspicious of Jews I mean seriously? No is the answer.

John. Your first assertion is just that; an unsupported assertion. Israel advised the US that Iran was a greater threat to stability and peace than Iraq was. Jews are not the only people who donate money to political parties and have been caught doing so in suspicious ways or technically irregular ways; it is endemic - though they are the only 'group' singled out in your comment. That says far more about you than it does about Jews. I am not suspicious of Jews as political donors any more than I'm suspicious of any other donors. Iran poses a far greater threat to Israel than Iraq ever did, and Bush's decision to take out Saddam has left America far too weak and too tired to deal effectively with Iran. Every point you make is demonstrably weak. If there truly is some great Jewish conspiracy, John, as you and morons like you seem disposed to believe, you must be greatly relieved at how ineffective the conspiracy really is.

Generalising is a powerful tool. By producing a list of prominent Jews, the Guardian poster has "proved" that the Yids are a bunch of "neo-conservative pigs". Yet there are other posters out there who have similarly "proved" that the Yids are a bunch of "commie rats", using a different list composed of people like Marx, Engels and Trotsky. In the same way, I reckon I could "prove" that the Yids are a bunch of "damn journalists" using yet another list (Finkelstein, Phillips, Pollard, Aaronovitch etc.) or a bunch of "bloody entertainers" (Gershwin, Bacharach, Streisand, Manilow etc.). I personally believe that the Jews are all things to all men - which is a compliment, really.

I am a frequent reader of and commenter at CiF. Whenever I go there it's like going to a lunatic asylum. Often it's amusing. But it's also very sobering -- not just the comments about Jews, but also those from the many hardcore leftists there who view fundamental principles of human liberty with such contempt. Joshua, you are spot on with your comments regarding the Jewish citizens of the UK ! Our contribution to the UK has been far too generous. Too many of the Jews here continue to delude themselves that they are regarded and accepted as 'English'or 'British'.I'm an old man now (third generation here on my father's side, second on my mother's), so it doesn't matter for me, but for the young and succeeding generations of Jews, there is no future here if they wish to retain their identity as Jews, and they should employ their talents elsewhere, preferably in the Land of Israel.

Actually, it is directly due to the fact that Britain stood up to the Nazis that I am able to write this comment today. It's also worth mentioning that all the Jewish settlers in Palestine would have been exterminated had Rommel reached and crossed the Suez canal and continued onwards to Jerusalem (where Hitler's good friend Hajj Amin el Husseini, the local Mufti, would have been delighted to help round up the 'Jewish infidel' and assist execute the Final Solution).

Let's look at the facts: driven out of their homeland two thousand years ago, subject to routine and unpredictable violence and expulsion throughout their subsequent history as a minority community in Europe, accused of killing Christian children for blood, the Holocaust, the majority of the land designated as their homeland unilaterally gifted to the Hashemite monarchs in the form of Trans-Jordan, ending up with a country literally the size of Wales (with no oil), pressured by the world to hand back every inch of land fairly won in defensive wars against genocidal neighbours, the only country in the world expected by the media and foreign politicians to turn the other cheek against daily attempts to murder their civilians, the only country singled out obsessively for condemnation by the OIC-dominated UNHRC, an increasingly resented minority throughout Europe, Israeli advice on Iraq and Iran ignored by America, always the baddies in BBC spy drama Spooks, singled out for their ethnic background when making donations to political parties ... etc etc. Someone has to stop this relentless march towards world domination before it's too late! BUT...only 3 groups were exterminated for who they were: -the Gipsies for their nomadian cultur -the homosexual for their sexuality -the Jews for their religion. Those 3 groups were executed without difference of nationality. All the other deads (and there were so many of them, like the 25 milion Russians and so on) were war casualities, dying on the battelfield and in prisonner camps. I would remind Lee Jakeman that, in the 1930s, and even after the war began,there were many among the English/British Establishment (and the general public)who admired and approved of Hitler and his policies. Even after Hitler had reneged on all his undertakings and proved that Chamberlain's policy of appeasement had been a disaster, there were prominent people in politics here who wanted to come to an accomodation with Hitler. Despite his record, they chose to believe that if Hitler was given a free hand in Europe, he would allow Britain to hold on to the Empire. Does Lee Jakeman believe that Rudolf Hess's flight over here was unexpected ! If Hitler had invaded Britain, there were many here who would have gotten up early in the morning to roll out the red carpet for him ! Winston Churchill's premiership was not popular to begin with (the Queen didn't like him at all, and declared a preference for "that nice Mr. Chamberlain"),but without him at the helm, this country would have been doomed.

Michael N, my point is that despite the fact that,in the end, Britain had, albeit reluctantly, declared war on Germany, there were still prominent people in the Establishment here who were pro-Nazi. Your remark: "fought on against your enemies" reminds me of the many remarks I heard, as a boy of 13 or 14, that Britain had only got into the war on account of the Jews ! Just be clear about the facts: You fought on against your enemies in order to save yourselves, not to save us ! As far as you were concerned, we weren't part of the equation. I am aware that we didn't fight on your behalf, and that is why I do not write any such thing. Fact: we fought on against your enemies. No causality is implied, we had a common enemy, so what you heard as a 13 year old has nothing to do with it. My point was this: I am truly sorry if we did not declare war soon enough or joyously enough to satisfy you. (Should a declaration of war ever be anything but reluctant?) After all, we had had just over two decades to recover from the party that was WWI. I apologise if we showed insufficient enthusiasm while clearing the rubble of our bombed towns or burying our dead, I am truly remorseful that my grandfather's generation did little more than ignore the minority that supported peace with Nazi Germany, and sacrificed their lives to defeat them. And I am sorry that you have re-written history to such an extent that our sacrifice can be ignored, our faults magnified, enabling you to tell yourself that your contribution has been too generous to our anti-Semitic nation... I am genuinely sorry that you suffer anti-Semitism here; it is hateful, deeply shameful, morally repugnant. But don't sneer at our contribution to defeating Hitler as though we did so reluctantly, grudgingly.
