Walking on water

Tuesday, 10th June 2008

The Mail has a lovely line today from the German paper, Welt Am Sonntag, on German hostility to President Bush:

If Bush were to walk on water, the Germans would say, "We always knew it - he cannot even swim".

I think you'll find that this joke was used in the early 1970's when discussing Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam.

Lee Jakeman

If Europeans were a shining example of virtue, I could understand, if not condone, their anti-American prejudices. Unfortunately, todays Europe has little to be proud of - and much to be ashamed of. At least the Americans make an effort to defend the free world - while their "allies" in Europe (that's a joke!) continue to pour Western civilisation down the sink. The only thing that's "big" in Europe these days is the size of its leaders' egos.

Lee Jakeman has every right to feel aggrieved.

With very few exceptions, anti-Americanism is the default setting of the British media. Funny how the left establishment will not tolerate such behaviour towards any other country, whilst no comedy club routine is complete without at least one 'Bush is a moron' joke.

Sheep.

I can only apologise.
