Course Director: Simon Heffer

Starting in January 2019 and directed by Professor Simon Heffer, one of the leading historians of modern Britain, this year-long, London-based MA programme focuses on the period from the outbreak of the Great War to the fall of Margaret Thatcher in 1990. It enables students to engage in their own research into an aspect of 20th-century British History, under expert supervision. Successful applicants will meet regularly for a series of seminars by distinguished guest speakers, each followed by a working dinner in the congenial surroundings of a Pall Mall club. Those interested in attending the seminars, but not in taking the degree, may join the programme as Associate Students.

Speakers will include: Sir David Cannadine, Lord Hennessy and Professor Simon Heffer
