Not so long ago my friends I … we welcome all sorts of luminaries to City Hall but not so long ago I welcomed the former French Prime Minister, Monsieur Alain Juppe to my office in City Hall and he cruised in with his sizeable retinue of very distinguished fellows with their legion d’honneur floret and all the rest of it and we shook hands and had a tête a tête and he told me that he was now the Mayor of Bordeaux.
