Connections between Iain Duncan Smith and NFL players may be few and far between. But Mr S is pleased to have discovered one. Colin Kaepernick, an American football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, has referenced IDS’s famous soundbite in his Twitter bio:
There’s nothing else included in his bio, so Mr S can only assume that Kaepernick, who has 661,000 followers, rates the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions pretty highly. Well fairly highly – he hasn’t quite managed to get IDS’s name right.
Now if only IDS would join Twitter. He could return the favour with a quote from Kaepernick in his bio. Mr S would like to take the opportunity to suggest this one:
‘I feel like I have a lot to prove. There are people that still doubt me. I really want to take all that doubt out of [their] mind.’
