Sturgeon’s natural disdain for working with the UK government was a constant theme throughout the pandemic, according to the newly-released messages. On the issue of the furlough scheme – which saved the jobs of a million Scots – Lloyd messaged Sturgeon to confess: ‘My reason for setting a timeline for them to answer us on furlough is purely political.’
