Today’s local election results are not a good look for Labour. After nine years of a Conservative Prime Minister leading the country, and the Tory party currently collapsing over its handling of Brexit, you would expect an opposition party to be triumphing in elections at this stage
Yet as the local election results currently stand, the party has actually lost council seats across the country. Fortunately help was on hand last night, to explain why the party was doing so badly.
Labour’s shadow equalities minister was on BBC news, and used the opportunity to explain to the audience that it wasn’t Labour’s hopeless leadership, unintelligible Brexit position, or ongoing anti-Semitism crisis which was harming its showing in the polls, but the party’s portrayal in the media, saying:
‘When people get to see and hear what Labour’s policies are like instead of the biased media projection of Labour, I think we will do even better.’
Labour's Dawn Butler says a "biased media projection" of her party's policies is making it harder for voters to understand what it really stands for https://t.co/KjBEM4RVeP
