It’s not turning out to be a great weekend for Jeremy Corbyn. First he had to pull out of a planned appearance at Glastonbury on Sunday to focus on Brexit, now his visit to London Pride has, too, been ruined by the referendum result.
On meeting with members of Labour’s LGBT community at Pride, Corbyn was repeatedly heckled over Remain losing the EU referendum. In a video shared on Twitter, Labour members repeatedly shout at the party leader:
‘It’s your fault Jeremy! It’s your fault! When are you resigning? I had a Polish friend in tears because you couldn’t get out the vote in Wales, the North and the Midlands.’

When one attendee says it’s the working class who voted for Brexit, the heckler points out that Labour is supposed to be the party of the working class. In one of the videos of the incident, Corbyn is filmed leaving after he is accused of ‘using the gay community as a shield’ for his ‘weak leadership’. Lord Collins, the Labour peer, has since criticised Corbyn for walking away from the scene.

Mr S understands that this was just one in a series of incidents involving Corbyn today, with the Labour leader heckled again while posing for a photo opp with Pride’s fire brigade contingent.
It seems that although Corbyn has previously enjoyed the status of a Messiah-like figure among Labour’s left, times are now a’changing.
